You’ll find acoustic and electronic drums, ethnic and orchestral percussion, electric and acoustic guitars and many other stringed instruments. The general idea behind Goliath is to give you a comprehensive set of samples for almost any musical situation. In fact, Goliath is even bigger than one of their last VIs, named Colossus. But, you probably guessed that by the name. A lot of the sounds are taken from other East West products but a load more are individual to Goliath.EASTWEST’s Quantum Leap Goliath Virtual Instrument (VI) is big. I don't have any of the problems your talking about. I am seriously considering just buying kontakt 3.I've just bought a whole new set of East West PLAY products for my new system including Goliath. your best move would be to get colossus (less expensive anyway) and save yourself some money and trouble. this is probably because goliath (unlike colossus) runs on ewql's new "play" engine. the result will be a really choppy style of playing that will drive you insane, the update that was supposed to fix this problem has done nothing. Goliath has some really good sounds but its playability is real (for the lack of a more technical word) sucky.įor no reason random notes will just simply cut short or not play at all. If you want good orchestral on cheap, check out Kirk Hunter Studios. The more advanced the format (Kontakt, Gigastudio, etc.) and the more advanced features it has, the more you'll lose converting it. Lastly, if you get a translator to import one library format to another, you'll likely lose something in the translation. Not everything you want will be in Kontakt format. Fortunately, since we're talking software, get out there, download and demo demo demo! Make sure it works in your setup. If you want everything, you have to have deep pockets. Colossus, I thought the synthetic instruments were a bit bland, for example.Īlso remember, there is no perfect program or perfect format. Just remember, there is not a single "one to rule them all" library out there, period. A duduk library, even if it's the BEST in the world, is useless if you'll never use it. Of course, make sure it's something you really want. Listen to demos, download free examples, read reviews, see how much you're going to get yourself in for. Answer the main question - Out of Goliath, what do you NOT like? Now, take that list, and do a google search on "instrument" kontakt library and start looking. Now I'm going to lay the responsibility on you here to do some research. Some libraries are copy protected, some are not. All of my friends who I recommended Colossus to bought it and love it. People picked every one of them as their 'favorite', so tastes vary. I've done 'piano shootouts' between hardware, small sample libraries and LARGE multi-gigabyte libraries. I know plenty of people who like libraries I've scratched my head and wondered how they liked it at all because I've heard so much better. This is why I prefer open ended, non-copy protected sample libraries in a popular format. A RTAS/VST built in library will probably be defunct 10 years from now. Now, you can get plenty of libraries with their own built in player, like Goliath, but keep in mind, I have AKAI discs I bought in 1997 that I can still use today if I want. Kontakt, honestly, will probably be your best bet as it's the most popular one around, next to the dead and gone Giga and of course the old reliable Akai format. Need bass guitars, pick a bass guitar library. Next, you need to start picking libraries on focused things you want covered. If you don't, you need to pick a sampler, like Kontakt, or HALion or something that you like and you like the workflow. Here's the deal - Do you like what you got? In my opinion, it doens't get better IN ONE COLLECTION. You'd be spending thousands upon thousands to meet or beat all the instrument variety in that library. For software, if you want focused libraries, then yes, there are tons of stuff that beats it, but you ain't spending $400 to get all of them. Hands down one of the best libraries for a VARIETY of natural sounds all in one basket. For *NATURAL* instruments, nothing touches Colossus in hardware. I have owned, currently own or have played with I beleive about every major ROMpler in hardware out there. I have and reviewed Colossus, the 'original' Goliath.

So yeah, great game, worth picking up, but hopefuly they will patch this with some graphics optimizations and fixes for the track laying. I JUST built this system last week, an OCed C2D with a 7900gto and it slowed down quite a bit. It also runs pretty shitty once cities got larger. Later impressions: Played a couple more hours and it didn't crash, but the automatic track making was very frustrating as the trains did not work very well, or atleast the trains would stop where there was available track to use up ahead. Look forward to a patch, but until then I will enjoy it. If they can get it more stable, and hopefully work on the auto track layout, I think it'd be incredibly engrossing. I just crashed for the first time when trying to delete a complicated piece of track (trying to get it just right.) So far overall I think it's definitely worth a purchase, and I hope more Shackers will pick it up. It appears to be somewhat unstable, my roomate crashed multiple times in the first 30 minutes, but has been fine for the past hour or so. It does the switching automatically, but with the new layout system again, it's hard to get it to work right. You also have to worry more about switching between double tracks and signals and such. The downside to this new system is that it seems kind of buggy and is hard to get it the way you want it. The railway layout has been simplified a lot as well, so that it automagically lays the track for you and you don't have to worry as much about minor/small gradients in the track. The supply/demand and cargo changing between cities has been very much simplified and is a lot easier to use. Note that you should beware of those "Speed Up Your PC!" ads for registry cleaners, which often lead to malware. For people with older, low-power machines who want a speed boost but don't care about extra goodies, a couple of the tips that you'll find toward the end of this list do boost system performance at the expense of visual bling. Most of the tips can be done for free, but some involve spending a little cash on software or hardware. Most of our tips show you ways to speed up your Windows system without compromising its appearance and functionality. The problem with a lot of articles that tell you how to speed up Windows is that they tell you to turn off some of the operating system's more fun features, such as visual animations. These tips for speeding up Windows work just as well whether you're running version 10 or 11. Even the most current version of Windows isn't immune to slowdowns, and not everyone is ready to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 yet. Once you're up and running, however, there are other performance factors to consider.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords deeply explores the history and universe of the Star Wars universe, using it as a foundation for exploring the complex realities of when causes, ideologies, and cultures clash. This role playing game has wit, humor, and weight that define the constant conversation you'll have with countless characters. and the secrets they keep about the Jedi Civil War. STAR WARS: KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC II - THE SITH LORDS is set thousands of years before the stories of the Skywalkers, when a civil war between the Jedi tore their order apart. The player will visit some cantinas where fictional alcoholic drinks are shown and mentioned, with one character passing out in front of you, and others being described as losing self-control over their speech while drunk. If you play as a woman, one of the main male characters is euphemistically depicted as ogling and fantasizing over you. There are several female characters with considerable cleavage and outlined butts with short, tight clothing. Some areas contain pools of blood, severed arms, decomposing corpses, and skeletons but this 19-year-old title's visuals make these elements considerably less graphic. First, the Agenda itself will be a PDF (portable document format) document, and second, the Agenda will be viewed on Apple iPads. Provides a common portable platform that is compatible across multiple agencies.īecause this quick start guide is meant to provide for a quick and inexpensive installation that meets the above requirements, a couple of basic assumptions are made. Provide a system that does not introduce significant new security concerns to agency networks. Allow for quick Agenda document publishing and changes/updates. Provide a simple user interface, suitable for users with varying levels of tech competency and that is resistant to user mistakes and viruses. Create a simple and secure way to deliver the Agenda to the viewing device. Insure that Board Members have their own ‘instance’ of the agenda that they can easily markup, highlight and bookmark in a similar way they did on the paper Agenda. Some of the key objectives in choosing a platform for the paperless Agenda system include: Īllow Board members to easily navigate the Agenda with minimal steps to open documents and different agenda items. Setting up a Paperless Agenda System A Quick Start Guide Back when I did this my cat would never step on the keyboard or otherwise get in my way, he'd just say hello and then pop into the box to chill, watch and snooze. Cats are funny and will self-sort themselves. You can put a towel or blanket or t-shirt in it if you like. Try putting a box on your computer desk, big enough for him to lay in. He may not care to see you or to actually hang out in your room, he just wants to make sure no rival stole it. This is because cats are very territory-driven and like to patrol. Also, if your roommate does any play when he's home, it should help and reduce the time needed to burn off what's being pent up.Īs for the door, I find that cats loathe a closed door and that if at all possible you should leave doors open and find alternate solutions. I hear figures like forty minutes for a full session (including the break), but I do probably like 10-15 minutes (again, including the break). Oh no, playtime is relatively short, especially compared to the time it takes a cat to act out because they don't get it. It will only take a couple times before he gives up on the counter ) It has a motion censor, so any time he jumps up, he gets a blast of air. Cats don't really respond to "punishments" and you're just enforcing the notion of the carrier as a negative place (which sucks when it's time to travel/go to the vet!).Īnd if he's still going on your counter, you can try this to keep him off. So yeah, I would focus more on preventing unwanted behavior with play rather than reacting. It's amazing what adding some playtime can do! I really think this will fix or at least greatly reduce all of the behaviors you describe. We play, she's laying panting on the floor, then she gets her food, eats, then sleeps. I like to do this with my cat before meals. Commit to spending ~30 minutes per day playing with him. Moving forward, all you can do is make sure that little guy is getting all the play sessions he needs and prevent boredom. I know from experience that if you don't drain that energy every single day, the cat will start acting out.Īll this being said, you can't go back in time and not have him declawed. He seems like a rambunctious kitten with a lot of pent-up energy. It's cruel and doesn't alleviate any problems in fact it creates more. He has no way of defending himself (and he knows it) and he is likely in pain (which will only get worse as he ages). His "fingers" have been cut off on all four paws.
